This course provides you with ability to receive your Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) and your Pool Lifeguard Skillset all in one course.

This course is available to high school class groups through flexible delivery to accomodate each individual school’s needs. This course also contributes 4 points towards a student’s QCE.

It equips participants with the skills necessary to provide rescue and first aid services in an aquatic emergency. The Pool Lifeguard skill set is the nationally recognised award required to work as a Pool Lifeguard.

The course can be completed in 6 months to 1 year and covers:

  • Language, literacy and numeracy skills in the workplace
  • Occupational Health and Safety

  • Employability skills and learning pathways

If the course is facilitated by an Outdoor Education Centre, three Outdoor Recreation competencies can be included to give students experience in working in the outdoors.
